Spinx, Ace and BP award grant to AJ Whittenberg Elementary School
A.J. Whittenberg, located in downtown Greenville, uses innovative technology to provide hands-on learning in the areas of science, technology, engineering and mathematics. The school plans to implement new technology purchased with the awarded funds in classrooms as early as spring 2012.
“This grant means so much to us at A.J. Whittenberg,” said Ansel Sanders, program director for A.J. Whittenberg School of Engineering. “We rely on outside support to aid in funding engineering curriculum and STEM (science, technology, engineering and math) related activities that allow for hands-on education. We want to bring learning to life for our students.”
Spinx, Ace Energy and BP chose A.J. Whittenberg School of Engineering because of its commitment to advancing education in the areas of science, technology, engineering and mathematics through applied teaching methods.
A second grant in the amount of $6,250 was awarded to The Children’s Museum of the Upstate by the three companies.
